Macular Degeneration is an eye disease that causes a progressive and painless loss of central vision. It is more common in people who are over the age of 50 but it is NOT part of a NORMAL ageing process. Difficulty with your vision must not be dismissed as “I am just getting older” or “my glasses are just old”. If you have doubts about your eye sight or haven’t had it tested for a while, book in to see us.  In the early stages of Macular Degeneration, there may not be any symptoms but it can be detected during an eye examination.

Although there is currently no cure for Macular Degeneration but the earlier it is detected, the earlier we can help slow its progression and save sight through treatment and lifestyle modifications.
